Siddeeqah Davids

It’s always a celebration when our crew achieve their goals, and of course it should be. What’s even more striking is when they don’t, but find the tenacity to try again. 🧱 let’s rewind to 2023, where at Pinetown she suffered the heartbreak of not making the cutoff. Bitter disappointment and tears of sadness after months and months of dedicated training yet still walking away with a “not quite there”, a DNF ❌. Many would have written it off, saying I tried, it’s not for me. But not Siddeeqah. Through those tears at the cut off line she vowed she would not stop coming back until she gets that bladdy medal. Undeterred she set about training for this years race. A whole year in the making, she went on to PB in all her distances from 5km - marathon. Comrades 2024 she not only came in victorious, she ran her own race, helping others up Inchanga as she powered home in a finish time of 11:33. Thats what we call Comrades + change! 🏆 Thank you for showing us what it means to be relentless when it comes to pursuing our goals!

Q)Advice for new runners?

A) Keep going even when the going gets tough, consistency is key!

I've learnt that motivation will get you going , but being disciplined gives you the results!

Q) Fave distance to run?

A) Probably a 30 or 42km.I'm more of a consistent, disciplined runner that enjoys the long road, than a fast paced runner as you tend to work harder on shorter distances

Q) Running idol?

A) Carla Molinaro- Strong and such a lovely soul and

Sunil Shah (A man I've met in Durban on my 1st Comrades that completed 21 Comrades and the most down to earth, humble guy
